BLOGGING THE CITY

Am 4. Oktober fand in Amsterdam zum zweiten Mal die Blogging the City Konferenz im Pakhuis de Zwijger statt. Wegen meines Praktikums hatte ich die Möglichkeit, dort kostenlos teilzunehmen. (Ein paar Fotos habe ich bereits auf Instagram hochgeladen.)
Dort kamen urbane Blogger aus verschiedenen Ländern zusammen und stellten ihre Blogs und die Ideen und Geschichten hinter ihren Projekten vor. Unter Anderem ging es um Streetart, Architektur, Politik und Stadtplanung.

Besonders interessant war z.B. der Vortrag von Luc Harings, der Initiator des Blogs ilovenoord.nl. Dieser Blog beschäftigt sich mit dem bisher weniger populären Amsterdammer Stadtteil Noord, der durch den Fluss IJ vom Rest der Stadt etwas separiert ist.
Durch den Blog und die drumherum entwickelte Kampagne (Promosticker,-pullis,-poster etc.) hat Harings es geschafft, eine stetig wachsende Fangemeinde für den Stadtteil zu gewinnen.

Mit dabei war auch Steffan Höffken von Urbanophil, der außerdem der Leiter der ersten Blogging the City Veranstaltung in Berlin war, und dessen Blog ich euch auch nur wärmstens empfehlen kann.

Die Konferenz war aufgeteilt auf eine Tages- und eine Abendveranstaltung. Leider konnte ich die Abendveranstaltung nicht besuchen, habe mir aber die Blogs der Sprecher des Abends angeschaut und bin besonders bei den Blogs von Rudolf Klöckner (urban shit) und Jeroen Beekmans und Joop de Boer (Pop-up City) hängen geblieben.

Für eine Bloggerin mit leichten Motivationsschwierigkeiten wie mich, war die Konferenz in jedem Fall sehr aufschlussreich, inspirierend und auch lehrreich.

At the 4th of october the 2nd Blogging the City conference took place in the Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. It was possible for me to join it for free because of my internship at the Goethe Institute. (I have already uploaded a few pictures on Instagram too.)
On this conference urban bloggers from all over the world came together and presented their blogs and the visions and stories behind it. The topics of the blogs were e.g. streetart- and culture, architecture, politics and urbanism in general.
Notably was e.g. the presentation from Luc Harings who is the founder of ilovenoord.nl. This Blogs introduces the  less popular Amsterdam district Noord, which is seperated from the rest of the city by the river IJ.
The Blog already enjoys great and increasing popularity due to the promotional campaign which was created around it (stickers,sweaters,posters etc.)

Another speaker at the afternoon was Steffan Höffken from urbanophil, who was also the director of the first Blogging the city conference in Berlin and whose blog I can also highly recommend.

The conference was splitted in two parts, a daytime and a night event. Unfortunately it was not possible to attend the night programm as well but I have looked up the blogs of the speakers and especially the blogs of Rudolf Klöckner (urban shit) and Jeroen Beekmans and Joop de Boer (Pop-up City) caught my interest.

For a blogger with a slight lack of motivation and ideas to blog about, this conference was all in all really enlightening and inspiring.
